Reach Gangotri, the sacred town at the source of the River Ganga. This is where your trek begins. After hotel/homestay check-in, visit the Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga.

Day 2:

Day 3:
: Chirbasa to Bhojbasa
Altitude: 12,400 ft |
Duration: 3-4 hours |
Trek: 5-6 km |

Trail: Short and scenic, with gradual ascent.

Today’s trek is comparatively easier. Walk along rugged terrain with breathtaking views of Bhagirathi peaks (I, II & III).

Arrive at Bhojbasa, named after the birch (Bhoj) trees that once covered the area. The campsite here is surrounded by wide-open valleys.

Enjoy the first clear view of the majestic Mount Shivling (6,543 m).

Evening visit to the ashram and meditation spots.

Overnight stay in tents.
Day 4:
Bhojbasa to Tapovan via Gaumukh
Altitude: 14,400 m |
Duration: 7-8 hours |
Trek: 10-12 km |

Early morning trek to the Gidara Bugyal at ~12,000–12,500 ft.

Walk across one of India’s largest high-altitude meadows, stretching endlessly with panoramic Himalayan views.

Explore wildflowers (May–June), snowfields (March–April), and local grazing areas.
